Our founder Julia has been successfully selling online since December 2006. It's been a tough few years recently with the economic downturn and Brexit the last couple of years, but she has soldiered on and come out the other side.
Selling mainly clothing Julia classed this as her 'day job' but in her downtime made jewellery as a way to relax and switch off after a day in her freezing warehouse picking and packing orders, paying invoices and dealing with customer queries.
In 2018 she made a life changing decision to stop selling clothing online and concentrate on the jewellery making. This was a big challenge as 90% of her income came from the clothing websites but Julia loves a challenge so sold of the remainder of her stock to invest full time in the jewellery side of the business.
It became apparent very early that the customers loved her jewellery as each piece was lovingly hand made, styled in Sterling silver and hypoallergenic materials and didn't cost the earth. She started selling on Etsy but this became quite a challenge for a number of reasons and Julia wanted control over her own destiny, not to be in the hands of large selling platform so RedDolly Jewellery online was born.
Today Julia has the same small business values she always had selling in her 'previous life' - never sell anything you don't love yourself, always treat your customers with the respect they deserve and charge a fair price for a well made product.
